The Goosedale wedding of Elizabeth and Gavin

The Goosedale wedding of Elizabeth and Gavin

NAMES: Elizabeth and Gavin

WEDDING DATE: 14/04/2012

Where did you meet? We met in a bar on the dancefloor.

Where did he propose? The day before valentines he disappeared out for a while. I thought he had just forgotten to buy a card. He returned home with a bunch of red roses and a ring. He got down on one knee and popped the question.

Where did you get married? Goosedale. We looked around a lot of venues before making a decision. As soon as we walked into the Goosedale we were blown away.

Where was your reception? Goosedale. We wanted a venue where we could get married and have the reception together.

Who was your caterer? Goosedale

What was on your menu? Tomato and Basil Soup Followed by Roast Beef Dinner then Sticky Toffee pudding (which they made especially for me as it is my favourite pud!)

Tell us about your wedding rings. The rings are just plain matching white gold bands. We didn’t want anything too fancy. I didn’t want anything that would take the shine off the gorgeous engagement ring Gavin chose for me.

Tell us about your cake. My very talented great Auntie made us a fabulous 3 tier cake. It was fruit, sponge and chocolate cake. Ivory icing with flowers trailing up the side. Our colour scheme was purple so the flowers had purple middles and a purple ribbon. We didn’t get to taste any at the wedding but I made sure we had some delivered the day after.

Who supplied your flowers, what did you have? Helen from Tomkins florists made me a absolutely stunning ivory and purple bouquet blooming with freesias and roses. Helen also gave alot of sound advice and all of the flowers on the day were all beautiful.

Who designed your dress and where did it come from? The dress came from Berketex (which unfortunately i can not recommend) Nicole Jackson was the designer.

What shoes did you wear? Rainbow club

Who did your make-up? I decided to do my own make up. My hair was done by my regular hair dresser Linda. Who was absolutely fantastic. She gave me the best advice in my trials and on the day it was really windy but my hair did not budge. I would definitely recommend her!

Did you have cars? if so what and who supplied them? Exclusive cars at Netherfield. The bridal party had x2 white Rolls Royce Silver Shadow cars. They are the ultimate wedding car, I would not have had any other. They were pristine, Exclusive cars driver Paul did a very good job of telling dad and I jokes to ease the nerves.

What was your first dance to and why? Aerosmith – I don’t want to miss a thing. As soon as we got on the dance floor and heard this song we just both burst into tears throughout. Every time I have heard the song since the wedding I have cried. This song is one that reminds us of each other and I remember being at a party and Gavin bursting into the ladies to fetch me as they were playing this song.

How long were you in planning your wedding? 1 year

Were you on budget? NO!!!!!!

What advice would you give a couple planning their wedding? Just remember it is a special day for the two of you. Spend on the things that are going to be most important to you on the day and for the rest of your lives after. Go to as many wedding events as you can you can get lots a brill ideas. Most of all enjoy the planning – don’t get stressed with it all (you only do it once) I loved planning it all.

When it comes to the day just enjoy every second, because it really does just fly by. Take a minute in the evening just the two of you and reflect on the day.
